Dulaglutide
Trulicity / LY2189265
An FDA-approved GLP-1 receptor agonist manufactured by Eli Lilly, marketed as Trulicity. A GLP-1 analog fused to a modified IgG4 Fc fragment for extended half-life. Approved for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk reduction. Also produces meaningful weight loss (5–10% body weight). How Dulaglutide is dosed in practice
Usually taken by subcutaneous (SubQ) injection. Typical range: 0.75–4.5 mg weekly. Half-life: ~5 days. Each card gives the dose, frequency and duration from one evidence lane: Clinical (human trials), Expert (practitioner protocols) or Experimental (early or animal data). These ranges describe what has been studied or used; they are not a prescription.

FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes (2014) and cardiovascular risk reduction (REWIND trial, 2019). AWARD trial program showed HbA1c reduction of 1.1–1.6% and weight loss of 3–5 kg. REWIND trial demonstrated 12% reduction in MACE events. Less weight loss than semaglutide but excellent cardiovascular data.

A solid GLP-1 option for patients who prefer an easy auto-injector pen. Less potent for weight loss than semaglutide but well-tolerated and has strong cardiovascular outcomes data. Often prescribed when semaglutide is unavailable or insurance-restricted. 4.5 mg dose added in 2022 for enhanced efficacy.
