GHRP-2

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2 / Pralmorelin / KP-102

A synthetic hexapeptide that stimulates growth hormone release through the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). It produces a strong, dose-dependent GH pulse, can also raise cortisol and prolactin, and stimulates appetite. In Japan it is approved (as pralmorelin) only as a one-time diagnostic test for GH deficiency; it is not FDA-approved.

Evidence Overview

Strength of evidence across clinical, expert, and experimental lanes.

How GHRP-2 is dosed in practice

Usually taken by subcutaneous (SubQ) injection. Typical range: 100–300 mcg per injection, 2–3x/day. Half-life: ~15–25 minutes. Each card gives the dose, frequency and duration from one evidence lane: Clinical (human trials), Expert (practitioner protocols) or Experimental (early or animal data). These ranges describe what has been studied or used; they are not a prescription.

clinical55% confidence

Approved in Japan (as pralmorelin) only as a one-time IV test for GH deficiency. Research used IV boluses, continuous SubQ infusion for up to 30 days (which raised GH and IGF-1 in older adults) and high-dose oral use in children; no trial used repeated SubQ injections of 100–300 mcg two to three times daily.

DoseSingle 100 mcg IV test dose (Japan); research IV boluses of 0.1–1 mcg/kg; continuous SubQ infusion of 1 mcg/kg per hour
FrequencySingle test dose, or continuous infusion in research
DurationSingle test; up to 30 days of SubQ infusion

Preferred by some practitioners over ipamorelin for its stronger GH pulse, despite cortisol and prolactin side effects at higher doses. Keep dose at 100–200 mcg to minimize cortisol impact. The appetite stimulation is useful for underweight patients or those seeking to build muscle mass.

Dose100–200 mcg per injection (stay ≤200 mcg to limit cortisol)
Frequency2–3 times daily, always fasted
Duration12–16 week cycles

Well-established in the peptide community. Users prefer it when appetite stimulation is desired (bulking phases). Combined with CJC-1295 (no DAC) for maximum GH output. Side effects include temporary flushing, water retention, and hunger pangs within 30 minutes of injection.

Dose100–300 mcg per injection
Frequency2–3 times daily
DurationCycled 12–16 weeks on, 4 weeks off

How is GHRP-2 dosed?

GHRP-2 is usually taken by subcutaneous (SubQ) injection. Typical range in DoseCraft's library: 100–300 mcg per injection, 2–3x/day. Clinical (human trials), intravenously (IV): Single 100 mcg IV test dose (Japan); research IV boluses of 0.1–1 mcg/kg; continuous SubQ infusion of 1 mcg/kg per hour; Single test dose, or continuous infusion in research; Single test; up to 30 days of SubQ infusion. Expert (practitioner protocols): 100–200 mcg per injection (stay ≤200 mcg to limit cortisol); 2–3 times daily, always fasted; 12–16 week cycles. Experimental (early or animal data): 100–300 mcg per injection; 2–3 times daily; Cycled 12–16 weeks on, 4 weeks off. These ranges describe what has been studied or used; they are not a prescription.

Is GHRP-2 FDA-approved?

No. GHRP-2 is not approved by the FDA for any use in people.

What is the half-life of GHRP-2?

DoseCraft's library lists a half-life of ~15–25 minutes. Half-life sets how often a compound is dosed and how long it takes to clear: about five half-lives.

Who should not use GHRP-2?

Listed contraindications: Active cancer (GH promotes cell proliferation); Cushing's syndrome (elevates cortisol at high doses); Hyperprolactinemia (may further increase prolactin).
